“This is a beautiful golf course and the layout is phenomenal, from the way #1 sets
up with the landing area working back to the green to the par five finishing
#18 which affords  the chance to make one last birdie,”

Joan Lovelace, Head Professional and GM at HGGC

You will find everything you would want from a private club, a plush course, lush green fairways, excellent practice facilities and incredible dining perfect for after round conversation with fellow members or entertaining friends or clients. Carved through and around the Maryland timber, this course is maintained with an astute attention to detail. The natural features of the area of the site to create an unparalleled golfing adventure. This par 72 golf course plays just over 7,100 yards from the back tees and 5,400 from the front. It has four par 5's and four par 3's. There are four sets of tees for players of all levels.

Your day will begin on a stunning par 4 that plays 419 yards from the back tees and 304 yards from the red tees. The fairway slopes from right to left which helps players because the green is slightly back to the left. You'll want to avoid the white-sand bunker on the left, start your drive up the right side of the fairway and you'll be very happy.   “You'll notice on the first green that these greens can be tricky. If your putter is off, this golf course will challenge you, but if you get the putter working in your favor, you'll feel like pro on top of his trade,” said Lovelace.

After a generous leadoff hole, with a good tee shot, you'll have a chance for birdie on the par five #2 From the back tees it plays just a bit over 500 yards. Long hitters will be able to reach in two.

“In golf it's important to get off to a good start and I feel like the designer, Edmund B. Ault offered this chance with the first two holes. The second hole par five should be played up the right side of the fairway, with your second shot, if you're going to miss, be sure to miss to the right because there's plenty of water on the left,” Lovelace continued.

The front nine ends with one of the toughest holes on the course, a par four that 457 yards from the back and 319 from the front; it's the #3 handicap. There are thick woods on the right and bunker on the left.

The back nine's total distance is exactly the same as the front so there's no break in distance after making the turn; both sides play exactly 3,539 yards from the back, 3,331 from the white and 2,685 from the front tees.

#18 is a 541 yards from the back and 413 from the front, a par five that offers the chance for a “birdie” coming home. It's the #10 handicap, so it's far from the hardest hole on the course. With you and your friends standing on the final tee, this hole sets up the chance for the dramatic finishing hole birdie to take all the cake.

“It's always fun to play the courses that the pros play. One thing you'll learn is just how incredible
those guys are. When we were hosting the tournament here, there were plenty of rounds coming in
und
er 70. This is a beautiful golf course and I'm confident you're going to love it.”
Joan Lovelace, PGA and LPGA Head Golf Professional
